GSMA – Our role

The GSMA represents the interests of the worldwide mobile operator community. Spanning 219 countries, the GSMA unites over 800 of the world's mobile operators as its members, as well as linking them with more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem (including; handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media and entertainment organizations). The GSMA is focused on innovating, incubating and creating new opportunities for its membership, all with the end goal of driving the growth of the mobile communications sector and the role of operators within it. In addition, we work with Governments, regulators and NGO’s to develop the social and economic value of mobile on a country, region and global basis. Finally we operate and produce the world leading Mobile World Congress and its sister events.

The GSMA is governed by a 25 member board, comprising CEO level representatives from the world's leading mobile operators, among them AT&T, Bharti Airtel, China Mobile, NTTDoCoMo, Orange, Telefonica, Telecom Italia-TIM, Deutsche Telecom and the Vodafone Group.

The Role

The GSMA represents the global mobile communications industry and as part of our ongoing commitment to deliver value to key stake holders and members we stage a number of the leading industry mobile communication conferences.  These are regarded as the leading events in the telecommunications sector. We are looking for Conference Delegate Sales Executives to sell on our events MWC Americas.

 

ROLE COMPETENCIES:

  • achieve and over achieve set sales targets with existing and potential new delegates
  • develop excellent relationships with all delegates
  • research and identify new growth areas for delegate sales
  • work with Production, Marketing and Account managers to maximise sales
  • accurately forecast and report activity KPI and results

 

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates will have sales experience preferably delegate sales experience and some knowledge of the conference / events sector

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a relaxed and confidant manner.
Professional and proactive approach on the phone and ability to communicate effectively over email
Strong drive and need to achieve results and status
Outgoing, confident and positive manner
High energy levels and endeavours to make an impact and generate influence
Ability to work unsupervised and in a busy team environment
Customer focused
Flexible and adaptable
Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
Ability and drive to achieve sales targets
PC literate (Excel, Word, Outlook)
