Role Specification

The Partnership Marketing Manager is responsible for the working with the partnership team to develop, support, implement and market partnership programs and activities for the GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas 2017 event. This includes working on Partner Event management and our co-marketing, media and association partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and work closely with our team of Partnership Managers for the management of co-located  events led by our event partners
  • Implement and fulfil the deliverables, liaising with partners to obtain pertinent information for the marketing activities and meeting critical marketing deadlines
  • Organize and arrange all partner assets, content and marketing  from international customers for implementation and promotion of their activities
  • Become point person and internal subject matter expert  for designated co-located partner event and meetings
  • Work cross-functionally for fulfilment and implementation of partners’ activities with Registration, Event Operations, PR, and Sales to ensure co-located meeting and partnership activity success
  • Lead co-marketing efforts with marcoms, PR, and media teams to promote these events through our marketing channels and marketing initiatives, and ensure brand standards
  • Manage tactical execution of marketing campaign elements through internal and external channels with support of departmental and agency resources. Work with partners on tactics and asset delivery, and execution of marketing collateral
  • Track in-market promotions
  • Arrange and deliver all partner marketing information to appropriate internal teams


Person Specification

This position requires focus, attention to detail and excellent communication skills in order to coordinate with internal teams and external partners, ability to multi-task, adapt to a fast paced environment and turn things around quickly. The ideal candidate must be a collaborative team player who works across different time zones but can also work independently on projects. This position will report to the Global Director of Channel & Partnership Marketing.


  • BA/BS required (Marketing, Public Relations, or related field)
  • 5+ years progressive marketing, events, partnership, or sponsorship experience
  • Business to Business marketing campaign management experience is a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of events, partnerships and sponsorship marketing
  • Project Ownership and Self-Direction: ability to run a project from start to finish with minimal oversight
  • Great organization skills: must be able to manage multiple projects
  • Adaptable for an international and multi-cultural organization
  • Can-do attitude, willing to roll up sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Demonstrates the ability to take the initiative on developing creative and innovative methods to achieve program goals
  • Collaborative style with experience in building relationships
  • Ability to provide clear direction, to organize resources and give guidance needed to bring tasks to completion
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to deal effectively with multiple departments within a global organization and to work cross-functionally
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Effective trafficking of media deliverables, both internally and externally
  • Strong computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems and applications
  • Knowledgeable in the social networking, such as: Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
