Network 2020 Programme

Mobile networks are getting better and better. Across the world, mobile operators are harnessing Internet-style technologies to provide compelling and innovative services in an efficient and flexible way. The GSMA Network 2020 programme is right at the centre of this transformation. The GSMA’s global specifications, such as the Universal Profile, ensure that new IP-based (Internet Protocol) services are reliable, cost-effective and will work across different devices and different networks, in any market. The Network 2020 programme is making it straightforward for operators to harness the full potential of IP to deliver everything from group chat and advanced voice services to the Internet of Things and live HD video. These advanced communications services will raise the profile of operators and increase their profitability in an increasingly competitive and fragmented digital services market.

The GSMA’s Network 2020 programme has three key work-streams focused on:

 

  • The development and deployment of IP services,
  • The evolution of the 4G networks in widespread use today
  • The 5G Journey, developing the next generation of mobile technologies and services.


The Role

The role lies within the wider marketing team, but is in exclusive support of the Network 2020 Programme. The role of the Senior Marketing Manager will involve the management of a number of deliverables within the Network 2020 marketing plan, to support the go-to-market, launch and roll out of Rich Communications Services, advocacy of Network Economics and Interconnect. The Senior Marketing Manager will also be required to develop a good understanding of the messaging and networks space in order to assist with the development of content to support the Programme Marketing Director and programme marketing objectives.
This role involves the management of relationships with the Network 2020 programme team and other key GSMA teams, marketing partners, external stakeholders, and suppliers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of overall programme marketing plans in support of the Network 2020 Programme Marketing Director.
  • Own and support all the development of marketing collateral, case studies, best practice sharing, proposition material for Rich Communications Services (RCS).
  • Support RCS and interconnect workstreams with whitepapers, events, Q & A, event calendar, blogs.
  • Project manage concept, design and build of event stands as standalone or part of GSMA wider initiative at GSMA events, including management of all comms, planning and speaker/agenda co-ordination associated with participation.
  • Assist with analyst and media (including social media) campaign planning and implementation
  • Strategy development, implementation and promotion of digital assets, including websites, kiosk, image libraries, and other potential multimedia outputs.
  • Development of programme content, which may include conducting analysis of market research results and writing blogs.
  • Management of design, delivery and promotion of evidentiary proof point publications. This involves liaising with the internal programme team for content delivery and management of external suppliers for design and delivery.
  • Liaise with other GSMA programme teams to implement joint marketing initiatives, as well as ensure Network 2020 programme content is included where relevant.

Criteria for Selection

 

  • Degree level qualification in marketing, communications or related field
  • Strong marketing, communications experience
  • Evidence of high quality marketing delivery in complex and challenging business-to-business environments
  • Strong event management experience
  • Website development and implementation experience
  • Social media strategy and campaign execution experience
  • Proven proof-reading, planning, analysis and writing skills
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams to successfully deliver required outputs
  • Experience of working in an international environment, with geographically dispersed teams
