The Senior Marketing Manager will be primarily responsible for producing and implementing a Mobile IoT marketing plan that enables the project to achieve its overall objectives.  The marketing effort for the Internet of Things programme will include communications, messaging, market research, positioning and digital marketing. The role requires close team working with the wider programme team, GSMAi, GSMA Ltd and the overall marketing community. Experience of industry partnerships, events, database focused marketing activity and email marketing campaigns is especially important. Occasional travel will be required.

Reporting to Programme Marketing Director, Internet of Things Programme

Plan and deliver the marketing activity for the Mobile IoT (LPWA) initiative

  • Production of an agreed marketing and PR plan and support  strategic project development
  • Delivery of marketing activities associated with the project including external messaging
  • Manage external collaborative group including operators and sponsors
  • Develop and deliver Mobile IoT events plan with support from the marketing team and external partners
  • Build and develop Mobile IoT Summit series and vertical events programme aimed initially at Utilities and Smart Cities markets
  • Work with project team to support the delivery of the annual project objectives within the overall programme plan through the marketing plan

Plan Internet of Things event marketing communications activity

  • Develop and maintain annual events calendar
  • Plan and deliver major event marketing communications activity for MWC & MWCS
  • Plan and deliver seminar series
  • Work with programme team to deliver the required content for media
  • Work with marketing and GSMA Ltd teams to achieve marketing & PR objectives for major events

Lead & coordinate all Internet of Things programme activity for specified events

  • Plan and manage overall event participation for specified events EG M360 NA
  • Deliver specified event marketing communications and promotional activity
  • Plan and deliver specific event activities such as networking opportunities, training, seminars and summits
  • Coordinate marketing and programme teams to deliver successful event

Lead team activity for internal communications

  • Plan & deliver internal communications to communicate benefits of Internet of Things programme to connect GSMA including regions
  • Create supportable events plan, local programme champion group and associated local language communication tool kits (where appropriate)


  • A results focused marketing manager able to work comfortably with supporting internal, external team members and industry partners
  • Prefers to deliver marketing projects rather than manage a direct team of reports
  • Thrives on working within in a small motivated team with a team first ethos
  • Contribute fully in all reporting activity required by the programme in a timely fashion, as required, including the weekly reporting schedule and the budget reporting schedule.
  • Advise and support new members of the team by communicating and demonstrating best practice
  • Maintain and manage PO requirements in a timely fashion and reporting into the budgeting process.
