GSMA – Mobile Money

Our mission is to support our members and industry stakeholders to increase the utility and sustainability of mobile money services and increase financial inclusion.

Two billion people remain unbanked, without access to safe, secure and affordable financial services. The GSMA Mobile Money Programme is working with mobile operators and industry stakeholders to create a robust mobile money ecosystem, which will increase the relevancy and utility of these services, and ensure their sustainability.

To truly transform the financial lives of underserved people, mobile money must become a central monetisation mechanism, universally available across a greater range of digital transactions. By making mobile money more central to the financial lives of these users, greater financial inclusion, economic empowerment and economic growth can be achieved.


The Role

Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

The Mobile Money Marketing Coordinator is the central person for asset management and marketing support across the Mobile Money team.

This role reports to the Advocacy Digital Marketing Manager and works closely with the Mobile Money Marketing Manager as well as the wider team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage logistics for Mobile Money events, for both internal and external audiences
  • Provide support to the internal reporting process
  • Publish blogs and resources on the Mobile Money website
  • Manage the Mobile Money social platforms
  • Source images and write copy for online and digital assets. Amendment of simple collateral (eg. updating copy and key statistics to maintain relevance and topicality of collateral).
  • Proof-read and copy creation
  • Build HTML newsletters and event invitation emails
  • Coordinate the translation process for Mobile Money outputs
  • Liaise with suppliers and ensure purchase orders and invoices are processed in good time, working with the appropriate budget holders
  • Additional tasks may be required as the need arises

The best candidate will be/have:

  • Developing a career in Marketing and storytelling
  • Familiarity with Eloqua, Wordpress, Salesforce, HootSuite and Google Analytics would be ideal however training can be provided across all of these platforms.
  • Experience in publishing to Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin corporate accounts would be an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of html
  • Very conscientious, with high personal standards and excellent attention to detail
  • A high sense of responsibility and focus on delivering to commitments and timelines
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with high quality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • A strong relationship manager with a positive approach
  • A team player, comfortable with a consultative and facilitative work environment
  • Intellectually sharp and self-motivated
  • Willing to travel, should the role require it

Desired skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification or relevant subject A levels coupled with appropriate experience
  • Demonstrable corporate experience
  • Strong English writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise issues in order of importance and urgency for action/escalation
  • Proficiency (intermediate level or above) using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate, professional, clear and concise communications of a consistently high quality
  • Experience managing external suppliers
