The Connected Living Assistant Project Manager's role will deputise for the Mobile IoT Project Leads in the coordination of projects, taking the lead on work-streams as appropriate, working with both internal and external resources as required.

Role Specific Knowledge and Skills Criteria

Machine to Machine (M2M) Knowledge - The ideal candidate will show experience in the understanding of M2M / IoT services. Experience in the wider mobile sector is also required including an understanding of the development of mobile services. Knowledge of the development and implementation of mobile network development projects would also be very useful.
Telecoms industry commercial models – the candidate will have some mobile industry commercial experience and an understanding of commercial models used in mobile telecoms relating to M2M services.
International – the candidate will be fluent in both written and spoken English, and it would be advantageous if a candidate has experience working in an international environment. Willing to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice.
Communication and presentation – an ideal candidate will have some experience in presenting to both internal and external stakeholders, gaining buy-in to their recommendations. The candidate will have some experience managing external working relationships and building strong internal and external business relationships. 
Product Experience – Some experience in the product life cycle of technical capabilities, while a good awareness of emerging M2M / IoT products and technologies would be beneficial.

Key Resposibilities 

  • Deputise for the Mobile IoT Project Leads
  • Take responsibility for implementation of appropriate project methodologies
  • Proactively contribute to the task breakdown, risk assessment, project planning for each project before it starts, and assist (or take the lead as appropriate) in monitoring and controlling during the project lifecycle
  • Collate, quality control and disseminate key project data, as agreed with the Project Leader
  • Effectively manage all aspects of project related documentation
  • Proactively ensure that requirements and plans are captured, owned and acted upon, as agreed with the Project Leader
  • Constantly seek out and implement process and methodology improvements 
  • Ensure that project meetings are effectively managed and productive
  • Proactively manage all aspects of communication related to the project
